Lala’s IVF Journey: Welcoming Their Beloved Baby Girl in October!
For any family, few things bring as much joy and emotion as the birth of a little baby…
Ms. Zhang and Wendy have been close friends since college. To outsiders, they seemed inseparable and extremely close. In reality, over time they developed romantic feelings for each other and became a couple, though they kept their relationship secret for fear of judgment. After five years of quietly being together, and with the support of family and friends, they were finally able to transition from lovers to spouses.
Three years into their marriage, seeing other so-called “traditional families” enjoying grandchildren and feeling their own strong desire for a child, the couple began to dream of having a baby of their own. After years of hard work, both Ms. Zhang and Wendy had established themselves in their respective careers, with stable jobs and income that made this dream achievable.
They began taking action, consulting domestic sperm banks and reproductive centers in top-tier hospitals, only to discover that having a child through donor sperm in China was practically impossible. By chance, Ms. Zhang learned that a friend had successfully conceived via overseas IVF, which led her to Uterus International Medical.
After signing an agreement, they planned to travel to the United States for IVF. They ultimately selected sperm from an Asian candidate affiliated with an Ivy League university.
During the egg retrieval procedure, 11 eggs were collected, 7 were developed into blastocysts, and 5 embryos passed PGS testing: 3 male and 2 female embryos. The couple decided to transfer a female embryo first.
In their first IVF attempt, Wendy was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy one month after embryo transfer and had to terminate the pregnancy. On their second attempt, the embryo successfully implanted and developed in Wendy’s uterus.
Ten months later, amid the excitement and anticipation of their family, their most cherished little one was born. They invited all their friends and relatives to celebrate the arrival of their beloved daughter with a joyous party…
