6 years of IVF failures, 3 attempts, finally achieving the dream at 35 in the USA!
“Becoming a mother may seem natural to some, but for me, it has been a journey full of challenges and hardships. To become a mom, I embarked on an 8-year IVF journey and finally, at the age of 35, I became a soon-to-be mother.”
At 25, Ms. Liu met her husband, who was 30, through friends, and they soon married. During the first two years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling around the world and living life to the fullest, happy every day. But by the age of 27, considering their biological clock, they wanted to start their family while still at an optimal age for fertility. What should have been a natural progression became unexpectedly difficult. After trying to conceive for two years with no success, medical examinations revealed poor-quality polycystic ovarian follicles and blocked fallopian tubes, making natural conception very difficult. Following the doctor’s advice, they began IVF attempts.
First IVF, age 28: 6 embryos created, implantation failed.
Second IVF, age 29: Despite multiple follicles, very few viable embryos were obtained; biochemical pregnancy.
Third IVF, age 31: 7 eggs retrieved, 4 embryos created, transfer initially successful but ended in miscarriage.
After two years of emotional recovery, Ms. Liu learned about overseas IVF options through friends and research. After careful consideration, she and her husband signed with us and chose the United States for their fourth IVF attempt. Based on her medical reports and previous IVF experiences, the doctor designed a personalized treatment plan.
Through preliminary examinations, ovarian stimulation, egg and sperm retrieval, 6 embryos were created, 4 reached the blastocyst stage, and 2 embryos were ready for transfer. Though the first transfer failed, the second attempt succeeded. In November 2022, the pregnancy test was positive, and by December, a fetal heartbeat and yolk sac were confirmed. In August 2023, Ms. Liu delivered a healthy baby naturally.
Every mother is extraordinary. Every IVF mother deserves respect and care. Ms. Liu, determined to become a mother, never gave up along the way. A big dream is achieved one small step at a time, and her perseverance has finally been rewarded.
