Turning Hope into Life: Ms. Fang’s IVF Story
Ms. Fang, 32, is a white-collar professional working at a financial institution in Shanghai. She met her husband at 25, and soon after, the couple married and settled in Taiwan. Their married life was sweet, and their careers were thriving, yet there was one thing missing: a child. The pressure from both themselves and their relatives weighed heavily on the couple.
Early medical check-ups revealed that Ms. Fang had diminished ovarian reserve due to years of prioritizing her career over her health, while her husband, Mr. Y, had suboptimal sperm quality. Although the chances of conceiving naturally were low, they hoped to try without intervention at that time.
As time passed, no good news arrived. The couple faced endless questions from family and friends: “When are you having a baby?” “You’re young—don’t wait!” Eventually, the inquiries became more probing: “Have you had any check-ups? Are you healthy?” The relentless pressure from relatives left them exhausted.
By the time they both crossed the age of 30, they fully understood the implications. Determined to have a child, they began visiting multiple local clinics and taking various medications, yet results remained disappointing. A friend then suggested trying IVF. While researching online, Ms. Fang found Uterus International Medical and signed up for a tailored IVF plan.
In January 2023, Ms. Fang and her husband visited the clinic for an initial consultation. The doctors designed a scientific plan to optimize egg and sperm quality and began a comprehensive body conditioning program. After the consultation, Ms. Fang shared with us: “I feel like my child is on the way, and my stress is lifting.”
By April 2023, after a follow-up assessment, the couple entered the IVF cycle. Their efforts were rewarded: 15 eggs were retrieved, producing 3 high-quality blastocysts suitable for transfer—two male, one female. In May, they began transferring a male embryo. Unfortunately, both attempts failed, delivering a heavy emotional blow to Ms. Fang. Thankfully, her supportive husband remained by her side, comforting and encouraging her.
After emotional recovery, the couple decided to try one final time, transferring the remaining female embryo. This time, fortune smiled upon them: 14 days later, HCG tests confirmed implantation, and at six weeks, blood tests showed excellent results.
Overcome with joy, tears streamed down Ms. Fang’s face. She reflected on the years of hardship and sacrifices, realizing that every struggle had been worth it. Perhaps this is the true greatness of a mother’s love.
