Uterus-free mother achieves twins through IVF in the United States
Some people undergo IVF out of love, some to carry on the family line, and some due to parental pressure. But today’s protagonist, Ms. Z, had no choice—she could not conceive naturally because she had no uterus.
Ms. Z, from Hunan, is 31 years old and has been married for four years. She always hoped for a complete family with children. However, due to chronic uterine infections, she eventually developed a purulent cyst. Despite following her doctors’ guidance to control it, the condition could not be effectively managed, and she ultimately had to undergo a hysterectomy.
After this outcome, Ms. Z was deeply depressed; she could not accept the fact that she could not become a mother. At the age of 30, she learned that overseas IVF combined with a gestational surrogate could allow her to have children. Motivated, she persuaded her husband and family to begin the overseas IVF journey. Through a friend’s introduction, Ms. Z found Uterus International Medical, and after consulting with medical advisors and evaluating her situation, she decided to pursue IVF surrogacy in the legally permitted country, the United States.
In April 2022, accompanied by Uterus International Medical, Ms. Z traveled to the United States. After an initial consultation, the doctors designed a personalized treatment plan for her, including ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, embryo culture, screening, and transfer. During this process, Ms. Z also selected a surrogate she was satisfied with, and according to her wishes, one male and one female embryo were transferred—resulting in twins. Thanks to the efforts of the medical team and the surrogate, they received the wonderful news of a successful pregnancy.
For Ms. Z, who had undergone a hysterectomy, this was an incredible result. She said, “This is the first time since my hysterectomy that I was told I could have children. I am going to be a mother!”
The wait was filled with hope. After more than 200 days, Ms. Z finally met her twin babies, one boy and one girl. The joy was beyond words. Timely blessings had arrived, and maternal love—the most powerful force in the world—had helped her overcome all obstacles and create the miracle of life.
