Hong Kong couple overcomes uterine malformation infertility — IVF helps them become proud parents!
At 5:15 p.m. on September 20, 2021, the loud cry of a newborn baby brought joy to everyone present. The tiny life waved its pink fists in the air, completely unaware that its arrival had so perfectly transformed an entire family.

Mr. T and Ms. W are a Hong Kong couple born in the mid-1980s. Due to career commitments, they had postponed their plans to start a family. When their careers finally stabilized, the couple began preparing for the arrival of their long-awaited child. However, Ms. W soon discovered that she had already passed her optimal childbearing age. During medical examinations in China, she was diagnosed with a congenital uterine malformation, making it impossible for her to conceive naturally.
Determined to have a complete family, Mr. T and Ms. W turned to IVF treatment and began researching overseas fertility options extensively online. After consulting with several medical institutions, they came to Uterus International Medical. Following an in-depth consultation, the couple decided to proceed with a self-egg and self-sperm IVF program in Southeast Asia.
Considering Ms. W’s age of 36, her egg quality was not ideal, though her egg count was still acceptable. Based on her specific condition, the doctor at Uterus International Medical customized a personalized ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval protocol. Through regular ultrasound monitoring of follicle growth, the medical team determined the optimal time for egg retrieval.
Unfortunately, the first retrieval did not yield satisfactory results, as the embryos were not suitable for transfer. After some adjustments, Ms. W underwent a second egg retrieval, successfully obtaining 10 eggs. Fortunately, two high-quality blastocysts—a boy and a girl—were formed. The couple decided to transfer the male embryo to a gestational surrogate. To their delight, just 10 days after the transfer, they received the wonderful news of a successful pregnancy.
On September 20, 2021, Mr. T and Ms. W arrived early in Southeast Asia, eager not to miss the birth of their child. When Ms. W finally saw the baby, she couldn’t stop saying, “Thank you, thank you!” At that moment, their long-cherished dream of becoming parents finally came true.
Mr. T shared that the arrival of new life made all the years of waiting and effort worthwhile. For both of them, this journey will remain an unforgettable memory for the rest of their lives.
