An Australian couple advances to parenthood through IVF!

37-year-old Ms. J and her husband are now proud parents of twins—a boy and a girl—both of whom have already reached one month old. Their story has not been shared until now because it was truly a rollercoaster of emotions.
Ms. J is a Chinese-Australian, and her husband is a local Australian. They met through work and got married in 2012. In 2013, Ms. J became pregnant for the first time. Being in her early twenties and just married, she decided to postpone having the baby to focus on her career. A year later, she became pregnant again, but unfortunately, she miscarried while still unsure about keeping the baby.
After two miscarriages, Ms. J took time to recover, hoping that conception would happen naturally. However, five years passed without success. In 2019, she and her husband visited a hospital in Australia for a checkup. The results revealed that her endometrium was too thin, making natural implantation very difficult. Local doctors advised them to try IVF. They underwent their first ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer cycle, but it did not result in pregnancy. A year later, they tried IVF again, but the outcome was the same. By then, the couple was physically and emotionally exhausted.
Just when they were on the verge of giving up, a friend suggested exploring third-party assisted reproduction in the U.S. and recommended our services. After reviewing their history and conducting detailed examinations, we designed a personalized fertility plan for them. Upon arriving in the U.S., the couple underwent egg retrieval, sperm collection, and fertilization procedures, resulting in three viable embryos—two boys and one girl. They ultimately decided to transfer one boy and one girl, aiming for twins.
After two embryo transfer procedures, their chosen gestational surrogate successfully became pregnant, with a due date in early April. However, just as everyone’s hearts were filled with anticipation, the babies arrived a month early. Both were weak and had to be admitted to neonatal intensive care, receiving 24-hour monitoring and assisted feeding. The baby girl’s condition was particularly delicate, requiring continuous medical attention. For over a week, the newborns stayed in the hospital, unable even to be visited by their parents.
Fortunately, both babies eventually stabilized and were discharged. After careful postnatal checks, Ms. J and her husband were finally able to bring their twins home safely. We wish this new Australian family many wonderful moments ahead with their precious children.
